Volunteer Positions in the Rockland Schools:

academic tutoring * - ES / MS / HS
Students sometimes need a helping hand with their academics, especially math and foreign languages (French and Spanish). Tutoring may be on a weekly basis during school or after school.

Our English Language Learners need conversation partners, grammar tutors, and tutors in math and science either during school or after school.

CEF God News Club is held on Thursdays by weekly. The final club for the 2016/2017 school year ends April 28.

MMOC will be hosting a weekly conversation based after school club every Tuesday in May. Planned topics will include Civil Discourse, Origin of Life, Meaning of Life, Values/Morality, and Purpose/Destiny.
We would greatly appreciate your prayer for this.

Band Augmentation  -  HS

Community members are welcome to bring their instruments and join students in the semiannual concerts. Practices are during the school day.

Many groups at the high school use cans and bottles to raise money. Donations can be dropped off during the school day.

Some of our students find themselves suddenly unable to access their home or personal belongings. A small purse or bag with personal items such a toothbrush, socks, or a hair comb can help to alleviate some of the disruption.

We offer food at many of our events.Refreshments or help cleaning up afterwards are always appreciated at events such as the National Honor Society induction, sporting events, theatre performances, and senior inspiration ceremony.

Students with food insecurity are encourage to take food home from the OHS food pantry at night or on weekends. Although any food donation is welcome, fresh produce and perishables are especially appreciated.

This paid opportunity requires some college education, fingerprinting, and a background check. Substitute teachers can be hard to find, so the school would encourage those who are willing to complete the necessary forms to become a substitute.

High School

​Our Jobs for Maine Graduates program seeks more volunteers for it’s network of people to conduct mock interviews, review resumes, or share about their career with a student. The JMG coordinator works to connect students to community members who can help students on the journey of job and career discovery.
