Partners in the Gospel
"Would you consider partnering with us?"
That's a question we haven't clearly asked before and we have come to realize lately that many are not aware we are serving as missionaries.
It is always a joy for our family to serve God where He leads us and serving Him through Maine Ministry Outreach Center (MMOC) is one of our greatest joys yet. During our time with MMOC we have seen God provide in miraculous ways, allowing us to devote more time to ministering the Gospel. And while construction work had been our primary source of funds, we believe God has allowed certain physical limitations lately to take away the easiness of running to physical labor. Therefore, our desire and calling to spend more time in the ministry on a daily basis involves increasing our financial support.
Moreover, we've been reminded that by neglecting to ask for support we are also neglecting to ask on behalf of those we're serving and those serving alongside us. We believe that others also are missing out on the blessings of partnering in the spread of the gospel here in Maine. Philippians 4:14-19
Who We're Called To Serve
There are so many young people who have deep questions about the things of God. However, they have shut themselves off to talking about God because their family or friends have been hurt or disappointed by the church, or because their own questions about God were brushed aside with trite Christianese sayings.
Other teens, who have placed their trust in Jesus, need discipleship and opportunity to share their faith. We want to make sure they have those opportunities by equipping them and engaging them in the work of the Gospel.
We also want to help provide training, resources and support for area churches who are struggling to engage the next generation.
Between the ministry of MMOC and the roles in our local church, we know that we need to devote ourselves completely to the call God has placed on our lives - a burden to spread the life-changing truth of His gospel! 1 Cor 4:1-6
Our hearts echo the words of Jeremiah:
"If I say, “I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name,”
there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones,
and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot." Jeremiah 20:9
We have seen God provide over and over again and could write a book on all that He has done in and through us. Still, we know that He has called us to work together as the body of Christ for the spread of His Gospel!
Would you please seek our Father and see if He would have
you partner with us in this calling?
In Christ and for His glory,
James and Charlie Shaw
"I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy,
because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now."
