Reaching Others for Christ and Keeping Earth Temporary

A Changed Life

1/31/2018

Is it worth it to step into the public schools, to show support for the staff and students,
to be available to talk, to build relationships so that we can share the Gospel?

Listen to Sophie's testimony and let us know what you think.

Sophie's Story

"I didn't grow up in a Christian home, or a Christian environment whatsoever. I wasn't brought up with any of the Christian values or lifestyle. Because I was raised in a home without God I decided he wasn't real. By fifth grade I had labeled myself an atheist, and a full believer in science. I continued to bury myself in science and develop my own views on the subject. As my knowledge in science grew more my opinion on religion also grew, or fell. I very strongly believed that religion was meaningless, a fairytale that was a waste of time.
Because I was raised in a home without God I decided he wasn't real.
By fifth grade I had labeled myself an atheist...
During this time, that I like to call the science period, as I was developing my ideas and opinions of the world, I realized it was a cold and dark place. I found myself lost, searching for something that I could never quite find. Being in this dark world I soon found myself very sad. In seventh grade I developed depression, and I began searching for ways to cure it. At first I turned to friends, trying to get them to understand how I was feeling, but that well dried up. I tried reading books and watching movies, but that well too dried up.

The title of this blog has described the mission of my family since God first called us to ministry; to reach others with the gospel of Jesus Christ for His glory, with our eyes fixed, not on the temporal, but the eternal.
