Reaching Others for Christ and Keeping Earth Temporary
|
 Friday evening, March 24th, 2017 proved to be cold and snowy with dangerous roads. When we heard from some calling out due to the road conditions, Mark Adolphsen and I reminded each other that it is God who has control of the weather and is sovereign over all things, including this gathering. What a testimony the weather did end up providing because, with many praying from their homes and hospital beds, another 45 people (ages 1 to 91 from over half-a-dozen churches) ventured out in the snow to Answer The Call!
Think of what that speaks to the schools that we gathered in support of! What Breaks Your Heart? In that cafeteria at the high school,...  Praise be to God!
I'm sitting here in the study at the Crie Haven House, which God has clearly provided (but more on that later), preparing for this Friday and the great opportunity we have in engaging the church in ministering to the public schools. We have multiple meetings through Friday with school staff and local ministries regarding this opportunity. Our request of you, as partners in this ministry of the Gospel, is that you would set aside specific times over these next few days to intercede on our behalf as we prepare for this gathering and also for the following outreach we expect to take place. "Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak." Colossians 4:2-4 Thank you for your continued support!  We were given a great opportunity to go in to Oceanside High School East in Rockland and present our ministry along with other career and education choices at Career Day. At first that may seem like a strange and small way to reach out to a community that has dealt with such large issues such as: suicides, in-fighting over the gender and sexual orientation debate and struggling with a very real drug problem. But then again, just stepping through the door to say hi to those who are hurting could make a huge difference...
 No, that's not a mistype in the title. Normally I would say something is "an answer to our prayer", but more and more I'm realizing that the things I'm praying for God has already prepared the answer to long before I thought to pray it. My prayers and my heart are just coming in line with His will.
